I have some 3 phase AC servo motors I got from work. We disassembled a production line and scrapped it, so I got my hands on quite a few of these. The line was running when it went down for disassembly, so the motors work well enough for an industrial application. Should I just sell them? Or what would you guys do with motors like these? Would hate to sell them then wish I had them later. I can't afford high dollar motors like these to purchase some later lol. I also got my hands on a few dozen feet of what looks like 80/40 extruded aluminum rails and a ton of clear 6mm acrylic. Going to possibly be making a giant mill with that stuff. Ideas for projects are welcomed!

Did you get the A-B Servo Drivers too? Just to be nosy, what kind of machine did you disassemble them from? They might make a decent spindle motor, even though a servo is over kill for that application.

Those things could run my Bridgeport without issue. Probably higher HP than the current spindle motor is.

I didn't grab any servo drivers (unless they're internal in the back housing?) but our E&I team is gathering up some PLCs for me to have.
They came off of a diaper production line. They were used to run the material unwinders. That line produced 800 diapers per minute. Pretty neat to watch. But it's scrap metal now. =)
Also, I saw someone controlling these same motors with gcode which was pretty neat. I'm hoping to use one to make a freight elevator from my garage to the attic that's strong enough to lift me and a load of Christmas boxes to the attic lol!

These look like servo motors to me due to the two plug connectors. One is the power and the other is the feedback device, which is usually a resolver or optical encoder. You may look to see if you can find the servo drives for these motors too to use the full speed control capability.
