I have the dewalt router for the carve king. I have removed the base plate and the adjustment ring. How much of the router body should be below the bottom of the mount? Would leaving the adjustment ring on the router above the mounting help in keeping it square to the table?

Would leaving the adjustment ring on the router above the mounting help in keeping it square to the table? I wanted the router as high as possible in my mount. What I did is put my router in my mount, do not tighten the mount, then manually move the z axis all the way up, then move the router up as high as it can go without hitting the z motor mount plate

I raised my router as far up in the mount as I could and still get to the button to lock the router. Want to get as much travel as possible in the Z axis.
