Seems like I keep forgetting to post my projects: - Gecko in Maple with Howard Feed-N-Wax (just applied so it's extra shiny). This was cut just after I re-tightened everything on my Carve King (which helped a lot!). - 2 Serving boards in Ambrosia Maple. Nothing fancy. Upper one was my first try at using the Moulding toolpath in VCarve to round off the edges. Holes filled with epoxy and finished with Howard Butcher Block Conditioner. I really like this wood. - V-carved Pineapple in Faviera. I originally started with an SVG of a pineapple that I purchased but it really wasn't conducive to v-carving so I had to redraw it quite a bit. Finished with Varathane Nature stain & poly. - Aaron

Looking nice. Glad you shared them. Butcher blocks seem to be in demand right now and I bet you could sell some like that.

Thanks all. The Gecko was milled using a 3D model purchased from the Vectric-associated website designandmake.com. Right now I'm just making things for family & friends - maybe someday I'll try my hand at selling stuff. All of the wood was purchased from West Penn Hardwoods. So far I've had really good experiences with them.
Next up is a sign for some friends who just bought a place on Lake Norman, NC. Couldn't find any good vector data of the lake so I've started digitizing it off of USGS topo maps in InkScape. That lake has a looonnngggg shoreline.
After that, I hope to get back to trying to capture 3D models of objects to cut. I'm waiting on an update to the MeshRoom package to fix a bug I ran into. Will post the results when I get it running.

I haven't heard about Meshroom before. Interesting looks like it replaces the 123D (software that Autodesk stopped providing) to capture 3D images.

Yeah, Meshroom looks pretty cool - especially since you can just drag and drop additional photos if you need more detail. I've tried to model an old duck decoy but unfortunately there's a bug that prevents it from finishing. Reportedly the next release due out this month will fix this.
