Finished this up last night. I have a whole new appreciation for those of you doing this type of work. I think I will stick with making parts.
Made a cake board for my parents anniversary. Getting the dog to look like a dog and not a nightmare was brutal to say the least .

What software are you using? Does it have the ability to generate a "vcarve" type tool path?

I tried easel, carbide create and something else. I ended up just using fusion 360 cause it's what I am comfortable with. The tool paths weren't really the complication, it was taking a real dog picture and getting something cuttable that looked like a dog and not some horrible eyeless monster.

Oh, it's from a photo. I tried and failed engraving photos using my CNC. Ultimately, I purchased a laser.

This video might be of some help for creating silhouette images.

Thanks for the video. Coincidentally, thats pretty similar to how I ended up with the .svg I imported into Fusion. Thinking back I should have done more of the clean up work in inkscape like the video did, rather then in fusion.
