So I'm still a beginner with this machine. I've been using the dust collection shoe from millright on my M3 for sometime now and I've been doing more frequent tool changes. It's a huge pain to change tools with the shoe on it and I really don't want to take the shoe on and off every time I do a tool change. The shoe base sits right over top of the lock button for the spindle and there is no room on the router to put it elsewhere because it hits x/z carriage plate. I also noticed that my shoe included two rectangular metal plates but I never used them because there was no documentation with the shoe or that I could find on the website. I've attached two pictures to help illustrate my problem. Is the shoe mounted wrong? Can I safely trim any material off the shoe so I can slide it farther up the router or something to that effect?

I don't have this dust shoe so I'm taking a guess here. The two metal plates may be offset plates to mount between the motor mount and the Z axis plate. That would create a space to allow the dust shoe to fit in between the motor and Z axis backplate.

Hey Nicko.
Those plates are spacers that should be installed to give clearance.

I have noticed the exact same issue with my dust shoe fit, but do not recall any spacers being included. Maybe I missed them? Or they’re in with my miscellaneous parts - can someone share a picture of the spacers? Thanks So I'm still a beginner with this machine. They are just rectangles with holes in them the same size as the back of the router mount.

It would appear that I do not have them. With dimensions, I can probably fabricate something. I can also pay shipping if you have some ready to ship. Thanks They are just rectangles with holes in them the same size as the back of the router mount.
