The homing switch is plugged into the Z+ on the control board. I don't have the laser hooked up at this time.

It would have likely been programmed for the laser, since you bought it at the same time. I suspect that if you plug Z into SpEN that all will work.

Yes that did the trick. Thanks! It looks like everything is working like it should, except the Z doesn't go all of the way up to the limit switch. Did I miss that somewhere in the instructions? I didn't get any of the laser information out because I wanted to run the router for a few projects.
Thanks again for the help.

It will only go all the way up when you do a homing routine. Other wise it should stop short of the limit switch in normal operation.

Bruce, When I execute the homing cycle the Z doesn't go the switch, it just moves up a little then down. It acts like it backs off the 4mm but never touches the switch. the X&Y hit the switches then off set the 4 MM. I am just having issues with the Z. When I manually move the Z axis to the stop, the controller state show 0.00 (12.225) for the positions. After I hit $H for the homing cycle, the Z moves a little then stops and the position shows -16.225 and(-4.00), which it only move a about an inch, It doesn't look like the position is accurate.

I was putting the G53 code to see when the PNZ would switch on. I entered G53 Z12.9 and the PN Z came on. I don't know if the homing switch is installed incorrectly? should it be set to be turning on at -4.00 for the homing cycle?

It sounds like interference causing a false trigger. The Z switch wires are likely picking up pulses from the motor wire. We see it from time to time and I haven't been able to identify why it occurs on some but not others. One sure solution is to zip tie the wire to the outside of the drag chain to get it away from the motor wires.

Derek, That was the issue. I pulled the wires out and ran them on the outside and everything looks like it is working properly. Thanks for all of the help to get this working.

I'm sorry to hear you had that trouble but I'm glad all is well now.
