I would like to try bcnc, have to install in my windows 7 laptop, is there anything I should know besides having to install python and some other files? Do any settings have to be changed to work with power route, or will it screw things up? it looks like i don't actually download bcnc, i just install python 2.7 and then install bcnc thru command prompts, is this correct?
Thanks, Joe

Install Python 3.8.1 ? www.python.org/downloads/Do not forget to install Tcl/Tk and PIP modules while doing so. Also check that python will be added to path: Once this is done follow the install directions under the "Windows Using PIP" section here: github.com/vlachoudis/bCNC/wiki/Installation It should load from there.

Yes it’s done through command prompts.
From what I was able to gather python is basically an add-in for command prompt. I followed the video that Bruce gave me to the letter (I would’ve completely gave up without it lol) and I still had problems. I just kept trying to install it over and over again, using different versions and update codes for python and bCNC through command prompt once it was installed. Eventually it stuck and it runs without any problems. It’s not a very pretty program but it’s basic and I prefer that because that means there’s going to be less chance for issues with it.

Right, Python is a total development programming language. Often compared to other interpreted languages such as Java, JavaScript, Perl, Tcl, or Smalltalk and C++.

I got it installed no problem, took me a little bit to find where bcnc was located, but I made a shortcut for it. So doing my g54 and g28 is the same as in ugs? and it will remember these when shut off? I connected and moved machine around, I like it better already, ugs didn't always move when I tapped x, y or z buttons, bcnc responds everytime I hit buttons. Excited to try a file.
