A few weeks ago I was cutting a piece on my Carve King when the cutting head just stopped. The file read File Transfer fail. I contacted Derek and we tried a few different possibilities. 1. switched to a different USB port 2. using a new USB cable 3. making sure no motors were in use during operation. I also have a power conditioner dedicated to the CNC machine. I'm running a MacBook Pro and I even re-installed the UGS software again.
We ended up replacing the UNO board. The machine ran well for one day then I began to receive a file transfer failed again yesterday during a run.
Has this happened to anyone or can someone give me at least some possibilities as to why this is happening. My machine has been down for weeks.
thank you very much

Hmm, were you using the same power inverter for both boards? If the boards are failing - it could be the power input to them either from the mac or from the inverter (inverter sounds like it would be more likely).

I can override the power conditioner and plug the machine right into a wall outlet and make another run but I have always had the CNC hooked up to the power conditioner with no problems!!!!

The 24V power supply may be starting to go and becoming unstable. Maybe switch the 24V supply out?

I see you’re still having the same issue, I’m still going to point my finger at UGS. I just started using bCNC last night and had no issues running a file that stalled out in UGS. Setting up bCNC was far more complicated than I was hoping for because I don’t know python or coding but once I was able to make a working shortcut it runs beautifully. It doesn’t have as pretty of a visualizer (or I just don’t know how to show the full project yet) but I’m wondering if that pretty GUI is part of the problem with UGS.

So I came into the shop and I moved some wires around, plugged the power supply into an AC outlet to bypass the power conditioner, used a new USB cable and used another USB port on my computer, Derek sent me a new UNO board which I installed last week, I'm using a new cutter. I also switched out the router to a newer one I had in the shop.
This morning I made a run with no problem, on my second run the head just stopped moving. I looked at the computer monitor and it just said OK. It did not say File Transfer failure.
So how do I approach this. After several weeks I'm still playing around. The machine is extremely unpredictable @!!!!!
Thank you very much

The 24V power supply may be starting to go and becoming unstable. Maybe switch the 24V supply out? I just checked the power supply and I'm get a reading of 24.6volts.
