Oh yeah. It translates everything very literally so you end up with all these crazy double lines. If you don't make the .dxf in Fusion you can bet it's going to be a pain in the ass.

If you're going to do alot of V-carving (using a V-bit like this) then learning F-engrave would be well worth your efforts. My Software set consists of F-engrave, ArtCam, and Fusion. Fusion can do all things but sometimes it's easier just to go to one of the other 2. What version of ArtCam are you using Alex?

On the Star Wars theme if anyone is interested here's a link to a Millennium Falcon DXF on my dropbox. Haven't tried this one, but it's like a floor plan of the ship: www.dropbox.com/s/m9e6l31y0h1t0bi/Millennium%20Falcon2.dxf?dl=0 Should cut pretty cool using F-engrave. Would be curious to see it if anyone here carves it out. P.S. Nice job Jason R! I had the same trouble with Fusion importing the dxf so F-engrave it was and it worked great..

Yea I felt like it was a right of passage to cut it lol. First of all, very nice work man. I'm working on this right now and have some problems. What toolpath operation are you using and what bit? When I do V carve (using Aspire) it carves material out of faces instead of just running on the line. Sorry for dragging up a very old thread but did you ever work out what the issue was? I am having exactly the same problem and can't work out how to resolve it as everything else is fine. Thanks

What software are you using? Typically if you are using the V-bit carving function in Aspire or ArtCam (Carveco) and you want to shift what area gets cut out, try to deselect the outer border from the vector group and then rerun the toolpath. The other option is to add another outer border line. Use the "Offset Vector" function to add the new line.
