Received my FedEx shipment notification last Wednesday for my machine ordered November 24th, but no updates since. Hoping to see it this coming week.

Are there assembly instructions for the 4th axis available yet? I've searched the forum and haven't found anything, and the 2 assembly videos linked on the website don't show it either.

Mine showed up yesterday for an order placed on 1/29. Never did get a shipment notification but the ‘order completed’ email came last week.

I ordered Plasma with laser but no 4th axis but haven’t yet received shipping info. Mega XL router only w 4th axis. It arrived on the 17th but someone at the shipping desk left out some minor but crucial parts. The Millright crew is on it though. I’ve gone 50+ years of my life w/o this router - a few more days or a week isn’t going to make a difference. I’d recommend watching through the 2 assembly videos when your unit arrives, just locating all the parts for each step so you can verify their presence. You’ll get a better feel for the actual assembly process and you’ll be able to identify any/all the shipment shortfalls at once. The MR crew has to be slammed with work right now and the beer virus can’t be helping. I was impressed that the machine came as quickly as it did, and that the response from support re parts was so quick (same day!). Won’t get THAT from ordering from Uncle Mao’s Communist Cornucopia on fleabay!

Does anyone know when the post processor for 4th axis will be available?
From the kickstarter FAQ: We will provide a custom written post processor for plasma cutting and rotary axis work with our machines for Fusion 360.

I've worked in wood with a MillRight Carve King for about 18 months. I've found it to be a reliable, capable machine that performs consistently and, within its limits, accurately. For most of my needs, its accuracy is fine, but for a small but critical subset, its accuracy under load is not adequate, so I signed up for a Mega V in the Kickstarter campaign. I've now had the opportunity to compare the performance of the two machines.
As a test, I defined square profiles, 2" x 2" and 4" x 4", and cut them in plastic-coated MDF using a ⅛" downcut end mill, routing one set on the inside of the profile and a separate set on the outside of the profile. This arrangement gave me the opportunity to isolate the effect of load, as a calibration issue would give different results for a 2" square and a 4" square and for inside vs. outside cuts. The use of square profiles allowed separate assessments of X-axis and Y-axis deflection under load. All cuts were made in one pass using a feed rate of 50 inches/minute and a cut depth of 0.1 inches.
With those cutting parameters, the Carve King yielded results that indicated a deflection under load ranging from 0.010" to 0.025", typically 0.020". The Carve King deflection was typically ~0.005" greater along the Y-axis than along the X-axis. Using the same program to drive the Mega V resulted in deflection under load ranging from 0.003" to 0.007". X-axis deflection measured slightly greater than along the Y-axis. My measurement accuracy/consistency throughout the testing was, probably, no better than +/- 0.002". The same end mill and DW611 was used in all tests.
Additional testing of the Carve King found that, to achieve results comparable to the Mega V, the feed rate needed to be reduced to between 5 and 10 inches/minute.
For most woodworking applications, the accuracy under load of the Carve King is quite adequate, and, for critical routs, slow feed rates can significantly improve performance. But, as Derek promised at the beginning of this thread last August, "the Mega V's deflection under load is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than that of the Carve King."
I can attest to that.

Thanks for the comparison of the Carve King and Mega V. Great information.

Might be a dumb question, but I can not seem to find the assembly instructions on the website, under resources. I see the videos but not a downloadable file?

Might sound like a dumb suggestion but you may find it useful to watch the assembly video for the CarveKing as well as the Mega V. There are tips in the CarveKing that also apply to the Mega V (eccentric spacers, switches etc). Watch both assembly videos for the MegaV before starting the assembly and take notes on things like the limit switch installation - it will save headaches if you find those instructions after completing the rest of the assembly.

Hi Guys,
Tom from Australia here, happy to report I've just received my Mega V (updated the Kickstarter comments too).
Might be a little while until I can safely venture into the garage to look at assembly yet as I'm still non-load bearing on my foot post-surgery (and will be so for another 4 weeks at least).
For anyone in Australia who received a Mega V and paid $751 AUD import fees courtesy of FedEx for GST / customs clearance, drop me a line and I'll run through some instructions on how to get nearly $250 AUD in GST paid, back.
Derek (MillrightCNC), hope you guys have a similar level of success getting monies back from FedEx, as I mentioned in Kickstarter, the Aussie Customs Broker mentioned the software that contributed to your excessive freight charges so it appears to be a well known issue.
Looking forward to seeing a host of videos and pics of peoples creations, I myself will be slowly getting together material for a 2020 or similar enclosure, but already have a few ideas in motion for projects (including a milled Pirates of the Caribbean bronze coin. lol).
Stay safe and virus free all.
Regards,
Tom

Congrats on your Mega V making it to the land down under Tom, and hope you have a speedy recovery and you'll be up cutting chips soon.
