I've been wanting to post on this forum for a while, but was holding off for it to be one about a successful project I had using my machine. And here I am! My work does a lot of development for small electronics products. I've been interning here as a mechanical engineering student doing a lot of the enclosure design and their manufacturing. More often than not we just 3D print the enclosure we design, but recently we've been machining injection molds with the M3 and shooting them on the LNS benchtop injection molder. I think they're coming out pretty great for how inexpensive the M3 was! Below should be and image of the mold tools we made and the enclosure that comes out of it. I want to thank this forum, too, for all the useful information about the machine I was able to pick up along the way. It's a hardy little thing, and I'm still at it cutting some more tools as I type this!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on such a great first project. It certainly looks as if you've learned a lot and the M3 is earning it's keep.

WOW! Very nice work done with a "low-end" CNC router. As we see here, the M3 is quite capable, and who knows what the ultimate capabilities are? Thanks for sharing; please do more sharing in the future, this is awesome.

Excellent work!
I'm impressed. We would like to share this on social media. Would that be okay or would you rather us not (company project and all).

Nice! What kind of plastic are you using? So far I've only molded polypropylene.
Check here for my modifications to the LNS injection machine to make it a bit more user-friendly:

Thanks all, the M3 has definitely opened some doors project-wise for us at the firm. It's a great machine for our type of work Excellent work! I'm impressed. That photo I attached was one we took for our company website, so we'd be happy for you to use it on your own social media.

We're using ABS plastic to mold those enclosures. We're actually just cutting up ABS 3D printer filament into pellets and dropping them in there. For the life of me I couldn't find white ABS pellets to order anywhere online. We ended up just trying the typical filament spools you can get off of amazon and they so far work just as well as the pellets. Just takes us some extra effort to cut up the spools. Those modification you made for the LNS were really impressive as well! I had actually came across your posts back when I was getting familiar with the machine and doing some research on the injection molder. You are actually the reason I buy the specific 1mm endmills that I do! Really appreciate all your sharing on your projects
