This new model has been a long time coming but it's just about ready to hit the market. Virtually everything needed for it is already in production or is already on the shelf.
The machine is called the MillRight CNC Carve King and it's awesome. It has an approximate cutting area of 17x17x4, give or take a bit either way. It's lead screw driven on each axis, has 1/4" bearing plates, dual motors on the Y, 2040 V slot on each side of the Y, and dual 2040 extrusions on the gantry. The Frame is 3/4" double refined MDF. This is a moving gantry design. The bed is essentially double stacked 3/4" (so an 1.5" thick) with some t tracks pocketed down into the bed to improve clamping options. It uses the same electronics as the M3. We aren't showing pics of the machine itself until it's in final form with all it's production parts, but here it is in action:
You have enough Z clearance to mount a drill press vise on this! (vise not included) Heck, since 4x4's aren't really 4x4 you can even machine the side of a 4x4 on this thing (carved mailbox posts, anyone?)
So, here's the deal for anyone who is interested. The general public has been offered the opportunity to buy the base mode on pre-sale for $600, which is $100 off the planned regular price of $700. That's no router or mount. The Carve King Z plate has the same bolt hole pattern for router and spindle mounts. Homing switches on this model are $40 and the painted frame is $80. The charge for the painted upgrade will likely go up once we move to regular sales on this.
Now, existing customers get an even better deal than that. Instead of the $600, it's $575 and a FREE homing switch kit.
Shipping on this unit is $50 domestic to the contiguous 48 states. The box is big and weighs 50 lbs plus so international shipping is 200 to 300.
If you want to get in on this deal, just PM me. We can send you a PayPal invoice that can be paid with a credit card or PayPal. Pre-rrders will not be held open for more than another couple of weeks perhaps. First come, first serve. There are existing pre-orders that will be getting theirs first. Some actually are going out pretty soon. Lead time to shipment on a pre-order is about once month.
Let me know if you have questions.
