Hello and thanks for your help.
I have a Carve King and I create my g-code using Fusion 360 and run the code using python3.
I wrote a simple boring program to create six holes into a 3/4" ply.
I just ran some of my other programs and they all run fine.

I think the G28 is throwing your Z off. N13 G28 G91 Z0 There was an update to Fusion 360 post processor. If you disabled G28 once you may have to go back and do it again. It's under "Safe Retracts" I have it set to "Clearance Height"

Bruce thank you for the update. I deleted G28 from the g code line and try to run the program. It didn't run at all and through an error.
I'm running python3 and I believe you helped me through the download and set up process. Thank you for that help. I like python a lot.

Setting to Clearance Heigth doesn't work.
Here two g code programs one works fine the other throws Z error. The first throws the error code. The second runs fine. Thank you for any input.

Hello I have spent four days trying to drill or bore eight holes into a piece of plywood. I can't believe how difficult this is. I can run an operation on the same pice of ply but I can't create any holes. The machine head Z rises into the limit switch and stops. This does not happen with my other program. I have tried different operations in Fusion 360 but get the same results. Thank you again for any help Michael I have included the file from Fusion 360 jig for drum shell v60.f3d (190.31 KB)

what is the other CAD/CAM program you have used to create your programs? What G-Code sender are you using? bCNC is a Python based program.
Fusion 360 can take some time learning how to use it. I suggest going through some F360 tutorials on YouTube.

I have two operations for this 3/4" ply project. One works fine, the other hangs. Contour operation works fine, Pocket operation does not.
I agree I'm still learning F360.

I loaded the code above into a simulator and all it does is drill 8 holes in a circle pattern.

Machine position safely retained alarm may be unlocked.
So does this mean I'm working beyond the machines capabilities?

After reading the error message, I relocated the hole pattern to within the tolerances of the machine and the program ran without any errors.
