I just finished building my carve king, milled a square, and everything came out perfect. Tried to do a v carve and had the tool set up incorrectly. Basically the V bit went to deep buried itself in the wood so I had to power everything down and loosen the collet to manually raise the router up. Now the it will not traverse Z+. When I manually spin it there is some binding. What is the best course to troubleshoot and fix?

I'm going to say that you will need to disassemble the Z plate from the rails and check the lead screw from there. I usually pull the bottom plate off the Z axis (with the UHMW an extremely wear resistant engineering plastic that the lead screw rides on.) Make sure the lead screw is turning in the anti-backlash nut. And the coupler connection is still tight on the lead screw and motor shaft.
