Afternoon,
I have been running my new MegaV successfully for a couple of weeks now off my primary laptop. I picked up a sweet little fanless pc to be a permenant shop fixture. It is adequately equipped with a current gen celeron, 8gb ram, and so on and has win10 home preinstalled. This pc shows no issues or slowdown with any software used or other peripherals plugged in. When I plug in the MegaV, however, the screen goes black after about a minute. Then it attempts to reboot a few times before coming up with a "could not load windows" error. It tries to and unsuccessfully reinstalls win10. If I unplug the MegaV, it suddenly works like new again with no issues. I can plug up to my laptop and run the MegaV all day long with no issue. I thought it was something faulty with the PC I received so exchanged it. The second one did the same thing without hesitation. For what it's worth, I also have the M2. That hooks up to the new pc and runs just fine. It is only the MegaV that causes the issue and only on that one PC. Any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks in advance!!

Wow that sounds very weird. I have setup a Raspberry Pi to run the G-code sender and I can use it on both my Carve King and Mega V with no problems. It may be an electrical noise issue. What if you move to a different outlet from the Mega V? Maybe use an extension cord to a different room even?

Doubt you have one, but plug the PC into a UPS (uninterruptible power supply). I'm thinking (only a thought; maybe a brain fart) is that the pc power supply battery somehow isolated the computer from something funky in your (house?) electrical system. Thinking that the PC would look more like a laptop with A UPS powering it. If you don't have one, DON"T go buy one. Try plugging into a circuit on a different breaker, etc.

It is weird, Bruce. I honestly did not consider the power though and will try it when I get back in tonight. It would make sense because that is the only variable that is different between my hookup to the M2 and plugging into the MegaV. And would make sense why my laptop would work as well. BT, I do not have a UPC I can take out to the shop, but will try the separate breaker this evening.

I had a few minutes to mess with the power end of this. I separated the circuits and physically separated the units, power cables, etc. Still did it. I plugged my laptop up to the same power and plugged in, but my laptop works just fine. When I boot up the new PC without the MegaV plugged up, it boots fast and without issue. I will then plug in the data cable on the MegaV and in about 10 seconds the screen goes black, the pc reboots, and if I leave it plugged in, the pc will fail to boot almost treating the harddrive as corrupt. Still stuck on this one.

What kind of power supply is on the new PC? Do you have the Mega V power turned on before you plug in the USB? Maybe try a separately powered USB hub? I don't know what else to suggest.
