I have a Mega V and was thinking to add some kind of pendant. I found the "INTERFACE CNC Touch" on the openbuildspartstore.com/interface/ It looks nice, but you are on your own to interface with the Mega V. It advertises: "Can be used with any Grbl 1.1 based controller, which has RX/TX/GND/5V pins (may require you to make your own cabling)".
Does the Mega V use an Arduino UNO controller? If yes, it has only one UART. Does this imply I would have to temporally disable the USB interface to use the UART to connect to the INTERFACE CNC Touch?

Yes it uses an arduino, which one depends on if you have the 4th axis or not.

I do have the 4th axis option. I knew it used an Arduino, but wondering which one.

Curious if anyone has been able to connect the openbuilds CNC touch interface with the mega v yet

This touch probe looks like it is wired for the Open Builds Control interface/hardware. I don't see an advantage using it. Just a plain metal block type probe should work with the standard Arduino based control of a Mega V.
