I'm completely new to CNC world and have never owned a machine before now. I joined the Kickstarter campaign because this was the first machine that had all the key features I wanted. It also required the least electrical work to get started, as compared to other machines I had considered. I'm not the best at soldering and hate to wire up sensitive electronics. I bought a 35x35 Mega V, DeWalt 611, Jtech 7w Laser, and 4th Axis. I spent nearly 15 years in the newspaper industry using graphics software, computer design software and photography. About 5 years ago, I was given the freedom to design from scratch and build a live broadcast TV studio with remote control cameras and satellite uplink capabilities. I consider myself computer savvy and have no fear about learning new skills. I started learning to use Fusion360 and Inkscape to operate the Mega V. I've been an avid woodworker for years. I enjoy designing my projects in 3D using Sketchup and have used 3D modeling for lots of different purposes, such as visualizing furniture in a room, creating installation layouts for contractors, and arranging my workshop (all my items/equipment are modeled, even the mini-fridge.) I'm slowly learning welding to work with metal. To build my Mega V table, I used 1-inch square steel tube, then fastened on a plywood top and a plywood side-panel to mount the control box and laser module. The table is on wheels and is easily moved around the shop. I do plan on anchoring the Mega V to the table, since at higher accelerations I have found it can 'hop' itself with sudden movements. I live in Nashville. Look forward to getting to know people and I appreciate all the good information I've already received from here on the forum. Jeremy Hey Jeremy, I'm right there with you except instead of newspaper and graphics, I've been deeply involved in machine design over my life, but no direct CNC experience. Besides woodworking and pattern making, I'm and avid metal fabricator so I bought the MegaV plasma/router hybrid. I also have a home foundry and do a lot of metal casting, mostly automotive parts as motorsport is also a big part of my interests. The Router was bought with intent of machining lost foam patterns for casting which I already have quite a bit of experience under my belt. I've been out of the CAD world so long I too started over from scratch with Fusion 360. -A lot to learn there still.
Best, Kelly

Hi,
Dev here, I live in Vancouver, BC. I am a Machinist / Toolmaker day to day. Mostly Manual machines at the moment doing Helicopter transmission and engine overhauls. Previously operating various CNC equipment over the years prototyping and running production. I have always enjoyed CNC and wanted to be able to have fun and create cool stuff at home while learning more programming and keeping up to date.
I am new to the hobby CNC arena (I bought a Mega V 35x35) so its a fair bit different than running bigger machines. Looking forward to sharing any knowledge I can and learning from the members here. I am planning on starting a Youtube channel in the future to showcase the machines capabilities and providing info on any tips / troubleshooting that I learn in the process of running this thing.

Well hello! I'm new to the forums, and not an owner of a Mill Right machine, but boy do I plan to be. I just sold my motorcycle and have some "toy" money. Trying to decide between an M3 with the 7 watt laser & router, or a CK with the Dewalt Router. I do have experience in 3D printing and design for CAM (though my machine shop does the actual building/tool path generation), and a lot of CAD/Modelling/Graphics experience. I'm excited to give this a whirl, but really can't decide whether I should optimize bed size or laser capabilities. Any suggestions - best bang for buck? #PleaseTakeMyMoney

Any suggestions - best bang for buck? #PleaseTakeMyMoney I made that decision based upon what size I thought I would need for projects I wanted to try(24"), so I ended up with the large Mega V. I may get a laser later, but it will probably be a much more capable k40 / k50.

Hi you guys. My name is Jeff and I am a wanna be CNC hobbyist. Actually I would like to quit my day job. I am 55 and I am a roadwhore construction worker. It is time to go home and I am ready.
Just this morning I bought the Power Route XL. I have been shopping and shopping and shopping and finally settled on it. I wanted USA Made and I was shopping price v size and this seemed the best bang for the buck. I like the way this machine measures up.
The one detail I forgot to check is the power requirement. Is it a 120V or a 240V machine? If someone could answer that I would appreciate the response. I did not see that info anywhere on the site.
Anyway, I am a woodworker in my spare time and a boilermaker in my work life. I love working with wood and believe that this piece of equipment will be a game changer for me.
I am SUPER EXCITED to receive this machine. Looking forward to interacting with you guys in the future.

It is an absolute beast and will take your woodworking to a whole new level. To answer your question, the standard Power Route XL comes with a Dewalt 618 2.25 hp router and operates on 120 volts.

Hi everyone, I'm John and I'm located in Spring,Tx. I'm 45 and my place of employment was shut down due to covid. Prior to that, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis so I needed out of my industry anyway. So I started woodworking and I love it. Not to mention I've made decent money doing it. So now I'm in the market for a cnc and don't know which one to get. I'll start another thread for that.

Hey guys. My name is Wesley and I work here at MillRight CNC. I had absolutely no experience with CNC before I started. I eventually learned how to run the machines here. I have built many of the Power Route XL's. I have had about 3 years now working with cnc every day. Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi.

Hello everyone! I'm Evan from Harpers Ferry, WV and I've just finished assembling my Mega V XL w/ 4th axis and I'm really excited about starting some projects. I'm a Java software engineer for my day job and the rest of the time I'm a father and husband. Whatever free time I have left is mostly spent with hobbies like 3D printing, and trying to build some creation from my imagination. I've been working towards getting this CNC machine, which is my first, for a few years now. It is finally here and I'm really enjoying it so far!
My first project is a pair of speaker boxes for a DIY speaker kit. The boxes are cut on the table saw and the front panel will be cutout by the CNC machine.
Anyhow, psyched to be here and hopefully will have some time to interact with all of you!
-- Evan

Hello my name is Neil. I am brand new to CNCing. I just ordered the Mega V. I am excited to learn everything all at once.
I think I may be in over my head but I think it will be a great chance for me to grow. I am currently Active Duty military. I am in an instructor role now which gives me more time to enjoy hobbies, but it also gives me more time to draw back on memories, most of which are amazing, but some are dark. So I am hoping CNC work will help with those times.
The more I read about this hobby the more I hope I can depend on some of your experience and expertise.
I look forward to getting to know yall and enjoying your projects and cnc journey as well
