Check out the calculator here. It allows you to specify your machine, material, end mill characteristics, and RPM to get recommendations for your depth of cut and feed rate. It also has some other handy features like a inches to mm calculator and the "fine tuning steps/mm" calculator like is found on the spreadsheet in the Assembly Tips forum. Some additional features may be added later. Credit goes to Jody Reimers (jreimers here on the forum) for this great piece of work. He has made an excellent contribution to the community with this application. It is also launching as Android and iPhone applications. As of 10/22, the iPhone app is available and the Android app is pending We appreciate your feedback. Thanks again to jreimers for the great work.

would it be OK to share this in a couple CNC related groups I'm in? I think it would be useful for anyone into CNC whether or not they ran a Millright machine.. Could also garner some interest in the brand for people who haven't heard of Millright.

Sure. Please do. The depths and feeds are tailored more to this level of machine in order to derate the chiploads a some from what is recommended in charts for heavy duty machines, but it should give people a good base line.

Fixed a few issues with the app. Version 1.0.4 is now available in iOS and Android. Don’t forget to update.
And like always, please report back with any issues you encounter or any additions you would like to see.

I like it, simple and easy to use. On the feedrate screen there is the gear shaped options button allowing you to choose between the carve king and the m3.
On the fine tuning screen, the steps per mm defaults to 40, which as far as I know is correct for the m3. And the carve king should be 200 steps per mm. So an options button to choose between m3 and carve king or a note about the carve king steps might be a good addition.
Thank you for taking the time to make this. I've never cut aluminum before and have no idea where to start with feeds and speeds and this app gives me a good place to start.

On the fine tuning screen, the steps per mm defaults to 40, which as far as I know is correct for the m3. And the carve king should be 100 steps per mm. So an options button to choose between m3 and carve king or a note about the carve king steps might be a good addition. Thanks for this. I corrected it so that it pulls the information from the initial settings page (no sense have multiple settings pages). It'll will be corrected in the next rollout. Hopefully with another new feature as well.
