Hello, I've finally gotten around to assembling my CNC Carve King today after receiving it a couple of weeks ago. Things are not going well and I've stopped on only page 4 as I'm starting to doubt the quality of this machines parts. The first issue although minor was one of the washers that goes in between the bearings on the V wheel was unusable as it has blobs of metal on one side, no problem... minor issue as I had a extra washers in my parts bin. Now the second issue which is more concerning is the 3 pillow blocks are completely defective. All three are Not pressed into the mount straight with one of them having it's rim about a sixteenth of an inch higher on one side from the other. The others are not that extreme although they are nowhere near pressed in straight and when holding the bearing and turning any of them you can see the mount turning around the bearing be crooked. in addition one actually has a binding spot when turning. Has anyone run into this? I would think it will affect performance causing binding eventually. Has anyone bought higher end pillow bearings, if so what are the detail measuring specs, or a replacement part number? Thanks Attachments:

I can understand your frustration with being held up on the build. I am a newbie to CNC and recently built a Carve King. I had an issue with one of the pillow block bearings and was sent a new one in two days. All else went smoothly and the support you will get is second to none which is sadly rare these days. Most of my support questions were emailed on weekends and nights and 100% of the time I got a response quickly. Stick with it. The machine is truly solid and well thought out. Good luck.

As I mentioned in the email... the orientation of the blocks can be changed. They can pivot in the housing.
Also, if you’d like us to inspect every M5 washer you’d be looking at triple the price. I’m here to take care of you but that is a little over the top to be bent out shape about. Seriously, here to help, but come on.

Damn....I wanted aerospace grade materials!!..hahahahah.. On a serious note... support on this was awesome! Derek was super fast on a response back. This is my first build and I'm a bit over analytic and like I said the washer was no big deal. As for the bearing concern it was completely non trivial as well, it was super simple and very easy to get the bearing to re position. I'm completely new at this and one of the reasons I went with this machine was because of the support I saw browsing through these boards prior to the purchase.. Thanks again Derek and others who chimed in
