Small question: do we need the heat sinks that come w the stepper drivers? Doesn't look like there's room, would like to hear from someone who's completed their build.
I've just finished routing wires (all my stepper motors had the same length wires, so I did a bit of clipping & grafting to get everything to come to the back left corner) so just shields and enclosure to go, hopefully finish tomorrow, then I'll be in truly unknown territory, looking forward to it.

They are small enough but I would advise to use them, doesn't hurt and only helps remove heat. That with a fan and never worry about overheating again!

I disagree. What notso said generally makes sense, but I would not use them unless you get a more appropriate thermal adhesive. The double sided adhesive that comes on the heat sinks don't stick well. This tends to allow them to move around and then short some of the pins. I've seen a good number get shorted because the heat sink moved around.
