I have been experimenting with VCarve and most recently UGS Platform in anticipation of my Carve King arrival. I have been trying to get UGS Platform (2.0.0 Nightly build, 64 bit) to work on my 64 bit Windows 10 laptop. However, I cannot get past the initial message that opens up each time you start UGS Platform (it won't let me click OK to exit the message. Nor can I close it out...I have to use Task Manager to end it). I have all the latest Java updates, etc etc. The USG Platform works fine on my 64 bit Windows 8 desktop but the desktop is no where near where I plan to operate my machine, hence my desire to use my laptop. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, have you found a fix/solution? Any help is appreciated! By the way, I also tried the other 64 bit nightly build version (same result) and the 32 bit version but it won't let me open the visualizer.

What version of java are you installing? I had to download and and install the Windows Offline(64 bit) version before it worked for me. Go to all Java downloads to download it.

I tried that earlier and it didn't work. However, I completely uninstalled Java to wipe the "slate" clean and reinstalled the manual version. For some reason that worked! However, the visualizer doesn't open. Does the visualizer only work if you have it hooked up to the machine? I know these may be basic questions but without my machine yet and no manual for using USG Platform, I'm not sure if the program is working like it is supposed to or if there is something wrong with my computer. Thank you for your help!

This is a screen shot of my laptop screen with ugs platform on without the machine hooked up. I can re arrange the windows but I think that's about all I can do. Hopefully, somebody with more knowledge about this program will chime in. Good luck!

You can always try a different version of it if your computer isn't quote agreeing with that version. The visualizer should work even without a connection made.

The visualizer does not work for me in UGS Platform. I even loaded a file to try it out. I will keep messing with it. Meanwhile, I loaded UGS 1.0.9. and it works fine. It's not as polished as UGS Platform but if this will do the same job I will just go with it until I can fix the other.
