Any thoughts as for how long a DW618 router will last. Use my Power Route almost every day for at least 4 hours, starting to make odd noises.

We have a lot more 611s our than 618 but those have been rock solid. I have a 611 I’ve been using for a couple years to include bogging I and even smoking it one time on a Power Route (was really gonna by heavy), and it is whiney but still cuts. I would suggest blowing out the router with compressed air periodically. That won’t make I last forever but it will prolong life.

Hi Derek, I see sparks on the top end of it under load. DeWalt has a one year warranty, 3 year limited. can you provide the sales slip for it? I can send the serial # if you need it. My thought is to buy another one and keep the repaired one as a spare. not sure if they will need the sales slip, just being proactive, will call them Monday.

I called dewalt with regards to a cracked spindle lock cover (arrived cracked) and they wouldn't warranty it on my 618. I gave up and purchased the replacement part myself. I hope you have better luck with them.
-edit- I believe you can replace the brushes yourself, typical wear item.

Since my date code is within the one year warranty they will fix it for free, just called them. Technically they should have fixed it for free if it is less than a year old.

My Dewalt 611 just died in the middle of a job! yikes. Wont turn on, LED comes on, but no spin. Is there a warranty on these?

My Dewalt 611 just died in the middle of a job! yikes. Wont turn on, LED comes on, but no spin. Is there a warranty on these? My Dewalt 618 warranty was 12 mo parts and labor, no questions. They took about 6 weeks to fix and return so I went out and bought another while it was being repaired. Considering a water cooled spindle long term.
