Machine: Power Route

Post by Catamarack on Oct 28, 2018 18:16:13 GMT
A few days ago I ordered a Power Route. I’ve gone over all of the documentation I can find but can’t seem to find the dimensions for the machine itself and the electronics box. I’m looking to build a table for it before it gets here but kind of need that information to get started. Anyone able to help out?

Hey.
It is 39 inches deep by 49 inches wide by 29 inches high. One foot of that width is just the electronics enclosure that sits off the left side. About 5 inches of the depth comes from the Y motor on the front that is above the table surface.
Scary/funny avatar by the way.

So would something like a 3x4 foot table work well? The Y motor would hang off, but that's ok with me. The electronics box might be a bit on the edge, but I think I could work with that. There's not much "extra" room, but I'm planning to have storage under the machine.

Yeah I think you’ll be OK with that.

What is the height from the feet of the machine to the bed/work surface?

There are a few picture floating around this forum which show exactly that. Ill try to find one.

It will partly depend on wire length and how much I feel like splicing. If you have some images, I'd like to see them. Always nice to see how someone else did something to get ideas.

I ended up with almost a 4' x 4' table and it still cuts it close with the drag link. Don't forget the motor has an end that pokes out as well (assuming you are enclosing the top as well).
I have mounted by box approx 1 ft below the table and only had to extend the Z motor wires to reach.

I know for me, I only had to splice into 2 cables, the rest were plenty long enough. I can take a picture of it when I get home on Friday. I browsed through the forums but couldn't find the pictures. Its been a few months so I know they are old.

What is the height from the feet of the machine to the bed/work surface? I have this same question, as I’m building a table to hold my Power Route before it arrives, and I’m hoping to get the top of the Power Route bed within a half inch of level with nearby work surfaces to use as infeed/out feed tables.

And of course I now just found millrightcnc.proboards.com/thread/2488/power-route-heightWhich of course didn’t show up in the results for my searches before posting... nothing to see here.
