Hi All,
I did a search, but did not seem to find my answer. Are there sets of drill bits with standardized shanks available (i.e., 1/4" or 1/8" shank regardless of dril diameter)? I need to drill several (100+) 1/16" holes in some of my parts and I sometimes need a longer reach than my 1/16" end mill. It would also be nice to have the versatility. Any advice?
Thanks, Tom

Call me crazy, but wouldn’t you use a drill or drill press for something like that and not a router?
edit: sorry, missed the 100+ quantity of the holes.

Thanks - definitely better than plunging my 1/16" endmill Wow, I wish I had this the other day - I had to finish several 1/16" holes on my drill press because of reach issues I still wish I could find a drill bit set with a standardized shank at either 1/4" or 1/8", or a way to hold the bits that have the 1/4" hex shank.

I bet one could chuck up one of those 1/4" hex adapters in a lathe a turn it down to fit a 1/8" round collet. I'd have to check one for hardness, but I bet the cheapo ones from Harbor Freight aren't hardened.
