Can the spindle speed be controlled from the cnc shield?

I received the 400w spindle for the Carved King can that be set up to have the spindle speed controlled via gcode, total noob just finished putting the Cave king together and test all the switches and motors all seems good, did a test run with a marker taped to the router and ran a simple engraving sign with z set to 0 came out great.

The short answer is yes. But there is quite a bit of configuration to get it to work. A different GRBL setup must be compiled with the VARIABLE_SPINDLE enabled and loaded in to the Arduino.
To use the pin connection with the PWM 0-5vdc signal, the Z+ and SpnEn are switched. So the Z+ has the 0-5vdc PWM signal output. The SpnEn has the Z+ limit switch wiring moved to it.
If you have a start/stop signal on the spindle controller you can add a relay to the SpnDir pins. Here are a few more links for information:
