I am just testing my new M3. The spindle is moving 8 times as far as it should in the x axis. For instance, in the jog commands, if it set the jog distance to 1 inch, the y axis and z axis will move 1 inch. The x axis will move 8 inches. The x axis always moves 8 times the distance I have set, inches or millimeters. I have not been able to correct this. Can someone offer me advice. Thanks.

This is just a guess, but are you sure you have the jumpers set properly on your CNC shield board? The X, Y and Z should all have jumpers on M0 and M1. Since the X-axis moves 8 times as far as the others, you may not be in 1/8th micro-stepping on that axis.

I just checked. I only saw one set of pins near the bottom of the board. There are jumpers across M0 and M1. Should I see 2 more sets of pins?

Are the jumpers vertical?

Yes, the jumpers are vertical.

Let’s see your settings by pressing $$ and enter.
It’s either settings, jumpers not set, or a blown stepper driver.

Settings look good. I’d swap in the spare driver and check there.

I replaced the x stepper driver, adjusted to 6 volts and tested. The travel on the x axis is still the same, 8 times normal. I have noticed that when jogging the x axis the spindle moves with a pretty strong jerk.

You do mean that you adjusted it to 0.6V not 6.0V, right?

I'm sorry, you are right. The pots are set to .6 volts.
