A company in the UK has purchased the rights for ArtCAM and will now be called CarveCo. New release of the software is slated for March 28th. No pricing info until then.

Very interesting. I wonder if our perpetual licenses are going to stay in effect (for those that got them from Autodesk when they killed it off).

The license from Autodesk is perpetual and is good. The new Carveco say they won't use a dongle or a subscription (right now anyway). I guess when its time I feel I need an upgrade I'll buy it from Carveco. But I think I'm set for a couple years or more right now.

Man, curious how much you paid for Artcam thru Autodesk? Cause its $1600 on carveco's site for a limited time. Hoping I'm not gonna want to kick myself for not purchasing it before Autodesk pulled the plug.

Autodesk has yearly subscription rates for software. I bought a yearly subscription for ArtCAM Standard in December 2017 for $360. In February 2018 Autodesk announced they were discontinuing selling new user licence and would offer only renewal license until July 2018. Any current valid licence holder would be sent a new perpetual licence before the end of June. All tech support for ArtCAM was discontinued (the rest of the ArtCAM support staff were laid off) in November of 2018. The ArtCAM forum still runs at Autodesk but is only user supported.
So Carvco is all the old Delcam and Autodesk people that bought the rights to the ArtCAM software and started a new company. I did hear that Carvco will be coming out with the old version levels similar to the Delcam days (Insignia and Jewelsmith) I'm not sure if they will have the free Express version but it basically just did 2D work.
Note: The current version of Carvco is equivalent to the top of the line Autodesk ArtCAM Premium 2018 version (Jewelsmith) which was sold at a yearly subscription of over $3000 at Autodesk. The current rate of $1600 for a perpetual license with no hardware dongle requirements is really a good deal. I think when it first released it was like $1200 back in March. Looks like they are increasing the price every month.
As far as difference in features, it looks like there is a few extra 3D machining functions and toolpath operations that I don't have in my "ArtCAM Standard" version. But so far I keep finding features in this version that I haven't taken full advantage of yet.

What can Carvco do that Aspire can't The feature sets for ArtCAM and Aspire are pretty similar. The premium version of ArtCAM had some specialty features for making jewelry, but that's about it as far as I can tell. The user interface on Aspire is simpler (fewer buttons) and a bit more intuitive in my opinion.

Yeah, agree with rowiac, I don't know enough of the differences between ArtCAM (Carvco) and Aspire. If you're already using Aspire there is no need to buy Carvco.
