Need help with z homing switch. Went through the wizard to set stuff up. Got to the homing setup. Triggered each switch to make sure they work. But when try homing x and y both home, but z moves up about half a inch then back down to where it was and acts like its homed. So I Power everything down. Manually turn it up close to switch, try it again then it works and sets home. Well I moved it down to line up on some material then the alarm goes off and I cant move it back up to home. Am I missing something? Picture is how high it goes before the jog exceed error appears.

You have soft limits and probably hard limits turned on. They shouldn't be. Let's have a look at your settings. You can post them by typing $$ in the command line and pressing enter.

Turn off hard limits as well. We disable them by default.
