Getting an error when I when I try to connect the computer to the machine, it says no ports found. I'm in Universal G Code Sender.
Is the fix to manually install the Uno board drivers? Does the thread [MANUAL INSTALLATION OF UNO BOARD DRIVERS] still have the most current info in it? I see the drivers were posted over 3 years ago.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Yes, that's still current. It refers to Windows 7, but it applies to later versions as well.
There can also be hardware reasons for this. If there is, for instance, a shorted driver or a wrecked uno board you would experience the same. I'd suggest removing all power and separating the red board from the Uno board and seeing if you get the same result before attempting to manually install the drivers.

Ok, I tried mounting the UNO without the red board, that didn't work so I manually loaded the drivers and that did the trick, I can now connect. However, the Y and Z axis are moving as they should, but the X is rocking back and forth, I would say about half a millimeter. I jog it and it moves over half a MM, and then moves right back. Doesn't matter the value I put in for the step distance, still does the same. I tried restarting things a couple of times but did the same thing. I also reversed the motor plug into the board, still same problem.

Update:
I have it sorted. I switched the motors between ports and the purple boards on the board until I was able to determine it was one of the purple boards. I switched it out for one of the spares that came with the kit so now all is moving as it should and in the correct direction. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to do some tests with paper and sharpies!

Ok, things are up and running. Did a few test pieces. Is the “fury” thing normal? It sands off but is a bit annoying. The main reason I got the machine is to mill bass and pine wood. I did a test with bass and it did the same thing. I used Easel to build the file, I used the defaults on MDF for output. Here is the info: - 4 flute 1/8” endmill (cheap one I got off Amazon as a set) - 1016 mm/min (40 inches per min) feed - 304.8 mm/min (12 inches per min) plunge - 1.3 mm (.05 inches) per pass - 16,000 rpm, lowest speed on the Dewalt Is there something I can do to eliminate/lesson this? Different RPM or feed rate, different mill bit type etc.? Obviously you guys do a fair amount of routing MDF and I doubt you’re sanding it all to finish it off!

This is an issue with MDF. You might try a down-cut end-mill.

Also a finishing pass will help a lot.

Thanks, for the suggestions, I've ordered some down-cut mills and have figured out how to set up a finishing pass, so the journey continues!

With these bits can you cut deeper than the 1/2" cut length they state? I want to put 5/8" holes in my wasteboard.

I'm back to having the same original problem. My laptop that I was using is on the fritz so I've hooked another to the machine, UGS doesn't see it, I'm trying to update the drivers manually like I did before but the board is not showing up, or at least I'm not seeing it in device manager. It should be in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section, right? What is it called? Nothing jumps out, nothing shows up additional when I connect the device which is how I figured it out the first time.
Update to to add:
I just disconnected the uno and red board, same issue. The computer is not even indicating that a device has been attached, which it did do previously so I'm wondering if the board is bad?
Can I purchase a new board?

If it was working before it might be the USB port on the PC is wonky. Or the cable is funky. I'd try a different USB cable.
