My assembly is complete. When I jog all directions work properly. When I try to home the machine there is no movement and I get this alert .

Hey Jim.
What happens when you just job the machine? For instance, if you forget about homing for the time being and just job 10mm at a time do you get the expected result

Sounds like the limit switch needs to be adjusted to engage the axis arm so it turns on. Or the limit switch wiring to the CNC Shield should be checked. That can be done by turning on the verbose mode on in UGS and check the status in the console display. In UGS go to the Tools | Options and turn on the "Show Verbose Mode". Then press the each limit switch with your hand and check the Console for a change in status.

Bruce I do not see that option. After a jog in all directions and then manually push all limit switches this is what I see.

OK found the option you were talking about. Checked The homing switch wiring and I did have one in the wrong place. Put it back together and ran with verbose on. Manually tripping Z and X they show up on verbose. Y does not. What should my step size and feed rate be set at For homing. Also max travel and pull off distance. thanks for any help.

You may have a bad connection on the Y limit switch. Sometimes a crack can develop at the switch wiring connection. You can ohm out the switch at the ends of the wires (with a multimeter) and make sure you have continuity.

It is likely on the switch side and not the control side. If you set your multimeter to the continuity setting and put the leads in the NO and COM terminals then press the switch does beep indicating continuity?

Tested continuity through the switch. It is good. Tested the wires and they are good. What do you recommend next
