I just tried photo in powerpoint, drew extra lines, went into Inkscape and used Trace Bit. I believe I could live with this. Now what would be good to generate g-code... Attachments:

You could also import the bitmap file to F-engrave to create the toolpath and use a V-bit to V-carve the image. F-engrave is free.

Today, I tried Inkscape and EstlCAM. I did two different Inkscape trace bits, one for the solid boat and another for the rigging and mast. I then pull into EstlCAM to generate CNC program (g-code). I'm hoping the g-codes will work. I'm working in inches. Code starts out as G20 G90 G40, THEN G0 Z2, THEN T0 M6, THEN G17... I'm doing my first cuts ever on my King Carve this weekend. If the results are good, I will share a pic....
