I am with Bruce and Hans. I am not a FB person, I deleted my account years ago. I have an Mega V on order and would love to see production updates and any new videos posted HERE not FB.

The control box is 11 1/8" D x 11 1/8" W x 5" H The cables are routed through the drag chain to the left side of the machine. Do the cables from the router plug into the box or are they hardwired? If they plug in, what kind of connectors are used? I'm wondering if it's possible to extend the length of the cables to mount the box in a location other than the left side of the machine (above, below, attached to the workbench, etc). If they use standard connectors, then it should be simple to make some extension cables of the necessary length.

The router doesn't wire into the box.

The router doesn't wire into the box. Sorry, the question was poorly worded. What I want to know is how the control box connects to the rest of the unit. Is it hardwired to the box or is there a connector? If there’s a connector, what kind? I’m talking about the motors and homing switch connections, not the dewalt router. I’d like to place the controller somewhere other than on the surface of the workbench, if possible.

Cool - so is there any issue with extending the length of the cabling? If I needed, say, another 4-6 feet in order to put the controller in a cabinet next to the work bench, would that be ok? Probably would use use twisted pair cables, or something similar, to keep the electrical noise down. thanks!

I used 22AWG, 2 twisted pair, shielded type wire to extend the stepper cables on my Carve King. The Mega V peaks near 5 amps for the stepper motor current so you should look at using 18 AWG wire to make your extensions.

How big is the drag chain on the X axis in the Mega V? Is there room to also run a couple small tubes in there for coolant and air or is it completely packed with wires?

The drag chain is good inch wide and 1/2" deep. There is some extra space available. It's not packed in with the existing stepper motor wiring.

Question about shipping: Will they ship in the order that backers bought them, or by some other criteria (like size/options)? Just trying to get a rough sense of when mine will ship in Feb.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Z axis hangs the router over the front of the work area by chance? For instance vertical clamping for dovetail work? I know some machines have that as a bi-product of the design. Wasn't sure if the Mega V did as well because it looks like the V wheels go right to the end stop. Would be a nice unintentionded bonus if so!

It is mid January are there any updates as to when these will start shipping? I am very excited to receive mine also.
I wouldn't really mind if the answer was that shipping may be delayed a week or two. Some updated information would be helpful.

Is this something that needs to be done once at setup, or can it be done on a job by job basis? We have some parts to make that are just a bit too high for the Z clearance, but being able to place the work piece on a vise under the bed would allow us to do that.

Anyone know if the Z plates will have holes pre-drilled for the larger spindles mounts similar to the Power Route?
