If a bluetooth is used anywhere near the Power Route brain it will make it malfunction - also the brain makes the bluetooth malfunction - so now I turn off the bluetooth when using the machine. Anyone else experience this?

Anyone else experience this? I have seen the requirement to turn off bluetooth on other types of electronic control systems.

I was using my bluetooth earbuds last weekend around my Carve King and didn't notice any issues. It's the same control, Arduino Uno, but larger stepper drivers on the PR.

Glad you haven't had any issues Bruce. So far, I haven't experienced trouble with the CK - because the laptop I use with it doesn't have Bluetooth. If I try for example to listen to music or a football game on my PR (Power Route) laptop - as soon as I turn on the PR the sound cuts out - and other times it caused the PR to malfunction. Additionally, when the music cuts out from using the PR - as soon as I turn the PR off the sound works again. Now I turn the bluetooth completely off before routing anything and have had no issues. It may be that I have a cheap crappy bluetooth transmitter?

My bluetooth is always on (Apple watch, hearing aids) but my Carve King doesn't seem to mind. I hope that the Mega V is similarly tolerant.
VGCustomShop: is it the bluetooth or the real-time demands of both music and driving the PR that is causing the trouble?
Derek: are the real-time demands of the CK and the PR different?

The demands are not different between the two. They do use different drivers, but otherwise the controls are pretty similar. I've not seen this before though.

maybe this is why my machine (PR) was stopping about 25% through my operations tonight? It would stop in the exact same spot every time. The commands would keep buzzing by in UGS but the machine would just stop as if I lost power to the laptop

That sounds like there is something odd with the code if it is stopping in the same spot every time. What happens if you run it on a software simulator?

Do you have them both plugged into the same power outlet?

Sometimes moving one device to a different outlet can help. Or try running the laptop on battery if you have a good one that will last. If you have one of those outlet testers, www.amzn.com/B000RUL2UU/ you can check if you have a grounding issue.

That sounds like there is something odd with the code if it is stopping in the same spot every time. What happens if you run it on a software simulator? It runs fine in 360 stimulation but the visualization in UGS freezes at about 5% then the program gets to maybe 20% and the machine freezes. I'll see if I can load a video of it happening It's too big to load but its keeps flying by and the machine just stops at the same spot 5 times now

The fact that it stops at the same spot makes me think there is something wrong with the program causing a hiccup in UGS.
