Well I got the Power Route all built, VFD and spindle running, but........I tried using my wifes old windows 7 laptop. downloaded nightly build ugs, tried to download java 8 and it wont install, get error messages. Have to use firefox cause I can't even connect with IE. So I am stuck. My other laptop has windows vista, only the Pbig PC has windows 10. Maybe just go buy an old used laptop with W10, IDK ??

I know this is not the question that you asked, but there are alternatives to UGS that might run on your old machine. Two that I know about are cncjs and bcnc. The first is javascript based and the second is python based. If you can install an updated version firefox cncjs might run. I don't know about python.

The motors will get hot. That is normal and okay.
