Wiring instructions unclear for M3 kit!

Trying to make the wiring connections between the CNC Shield board, the barrel adapter, the short length of wire, and the fan.

Can someone please describe to me what gets connected where?  Here's my guess:

One end of short wire to the CNC Shield terminal block.
Other end of short wire to the barrel adapter, combined with the wires from the fan.

Correct?

The FIRST time the barrel adapter is mentioned in the directions, it says "plug the power adapter into the barrel adapter you just installed".  How could I have just installed it if it's NEVER been mentioned before?!?

It does mention the barrel adapter before. It even shows a picture of it at the top of the same page that sentence is on. Strip the other end of the red and black wire and put it into that black and green barrel plug adapter. The black and fan wires go in there too. Black and black to - and red and red to +. Then take the other end of the thicker black and red wire pair and put it on the screw terminal on the red board with red to + and black to -.

One other note about motor direction: Yours may have our new motors. Wire colors are different, but know that the blue wire on your motors should match the direction of the blue wire in the picture at the bottom of page 31.

Thanks for the quick response, got it. I see where I read "adapter" (NOT barrel adapter) above and got confused when I didn't see the word 'barrel' there. Makes sense now. Appreciate the help.
