I have been using my M3 for all sorts of projects Somewhere along the way the machine lost it's way during on particularly long 3-D project. After a restart of the machine and doing a zeroing of the axis, the spindle will not turn on when the dial is rotated. I have the smaller watt motor on this machine. I unplugged white cable from the rheostat from the controller to make sure the plug was seated properly Could the motor just died? Do not hrar any sound from motor when the power is on. Thank you.

Check your power supply connection on the spindle control, make sure it is 24VDC 48VDC (thx Derek). There should be voltage on the potentiometer (rheostat) too.

Bruce, the 400w spindle has a 48V supply, just for reference. It does sound to me like the motor may have choked. It is worth confirming that you have 48v at the spindle power supply and 0 to 48V on the motor output leads on the speed control board as well. (It should change depending on the rheostat position).
