Hello, I just finished assembling the Crave King yesterday. I have installed UGS and Java, while jogging the any of the stepper motors, UGS say they are moving but there is no sign from the motors of any movement.
How do I check to see if they are even reviving power. When the board is plugged in there is a green led so I assume the board is getting power.
I have used a multi meter in the past, I am just not sure which leads to check. I had a hard time finding that info on the Forum.
Thanks

If you bought Black Friday or later then it is preset and tested for you and should just be left as is. There is a good chance they are moving but you don't realize it. The default jog speed on UGS (in some versions) is 10mm per minute. That is 1mm every 6 seconds, which is very tough to discern. Can you tell us what your jog speed is set to?

I bought the Carve King mid January, I have not adjusted anything on the board. I adjusted the move speed in UGS to 10 mm, to see if it was noticeable, I also disconnected the lead screws from the motors, as not to cause any damage while investigating.
Throughout the testing of trying to get the motor to spin, I have not heard any sound from the motors. I read in other posts that they should be making a little noise, but i have heard nothing.

What speed do you have the motors set to? We sometimes see that it's set to 10mm/min by default and people assume it's not moving because that corresponds to about 1 RPM. If the power supply has a good connection and you get feedback from Grbl upon connection then it will move. Do you get feedback from Grbl? Does it echo back settings when you connect?
What happens if you set it to 1000mm/min?

I plugged everything in the board as instructed and fired up UGS. I set the feed rate to 1000 mm/min, I did not observe any movement from the motors.
However there seems to be 2 blinking or flashing amber or orange LEDs. These lights, I just noticed so I am not sure how long they have been flashing.

When you power up do you hear the motors click when the drivers engage and apply torque to the motors. Can you turn the lead screws with your fingers powered up? (Should be pretty hard to turn)

I just started up the system and did not hear a "click" from the motors, I also tried to turn the motor connector (which are connected to the motor shaft but disconnected from the lead screw). they turned with no noticeable difficulty, probably the same as non powered.

This would indicate there is no power applied to the stepper divers. Check the 24Vdc from the power supply and that the connections are tight (and polarity is correct Red+ Black-) to the power terminals of the CNC Shield.
