My cable got frayed and broke during the plunge/burn episode...Was thinking of getting 1/8" instead of the 1/16" cable. Would this not be wise?, should I stick with 1/16" ?

As long as it's flexible enough you should be okay. You may be aware that there are different versions of steel cable, with a higher number of strands providing more flexibility. I want to say (I'd have to dig into it deeply) that we are using a 7/7 type cable.

Ok thanks Derek, I'll check them out. I had a 1/8" cable at home, but it doesn't seem flexible enough. Maybe just keep spare 1/16 on hand, but hopefully won't need them. update..... I ended up getting 3/32, mostly cause that's the smallest they had, So far it works well.
