First of all, I am loving this machine. I have pushed it quite hard and have hours upon hours of machining with it and so far zero problems. I received the homing plate early this week and wish I had it months ago. Well done and the video for setting it up was all I needed. Rather than create a bunch of macros, I just jog the machine the difference of the tool radius if it's not 1/4" dia.
I added a mist sprayer for coolant. This thing is AWESOME. And you can switch it to air only when cutting wood. I've been using WD40 because it evaporates and when I switch back to wood I have very little clean up.

On to my question, I have searched but the search function doesn't seem to filter that well. I know I've seen this on here in the past.
I need to take my Z apart to tighten up the router mount clamp. It has a little bit of play in it. I've decided that if I need to do that it, it would be a good time to upgrade this plate a bit. I will be adding a second mount and I would really like to raise it to get better use of the rotary axis. That and I've been using a vice mounted to the base for machining aluminum plate. That doesn't give me much room to play with in the Z. I'm constantly hitting the limit switch.
For the record, I bought this with the intention of cutting aluminum. 90% of the many hours I have on this have been just that. I wasn't sure it would be able to handle what I needed it for but it had far exceeded my expectations. I've been running about half the speeds the tools recommend and not quite as deep. Today I was cutting 1/8" passes at 40 in\min. Where the tool manufacture specifies 1/4" at 90.
