I just finished building my Mega XXL and am ready to add the spoilboard. My plan is to use 3/4" MDF and use the drop in Tnuts with counter sunk holes along the front and side edges and in the cross members 3 holes each. I will then glue down another 3/4" sheet of MDF to the top of this.
Problem is the table is so damned big, I am unsure how big to make the bottom spoilboard section. The glue down section will be 48" square. I am thinking just make the width 48" and only bolt it down on the crossmembers, and front and back rail.
Thoughts?

I don't know your type of work but I just incorporate the spoil board in to the work piece and then mount that to the machine bed. With a big machine like you have you may just try mounting the semi-permanent spoilboard to just half the work space. But really there is no set method. What ever works for you.

I’m finishing up my build on my mega VXXL I’m using inch and 1/2 x 12“ pine board for the base so it’s stable which I’ll square up and flatten on my other wood shop machines on top of that I’ll mount three-quarter inch MDF a with universal Ttrak eight of those to utilize for holddowns along with screwing directly to the MDF spoil board
