Hello,
I have the Xl machine (35 * 35)
I followed the video basics for using UGS. I previously used Candle with another machine.
I tested all the axis, and they work. I tested the Homing switches, they tripped as they should.
In the video it was mentioned to home the machine. Upon doing so the Z axis moved down, and then started to do the grind since no limit switches are located there. It didn't hit the bottom, and hit the switch immediately.
I tested again but this time I raised the Z axis to start almost to the top. It repeated the same thing, went to the bottom and then started grinding.
What am I doing wrong, or what is the issue?
This is as far as I got so far with this machine.

This could be an errant grbl configuration setting, or an errant motor cable wire swap on one of the terminals. Easiest to start with grbl config settings.
In UGS, when connecting to the CNC controller, the console window displays the grbl config settings. Please copy and paste in this thread for review and comment.
