Hi All,
I just built my Mega V and everything seems to be working great except for homing. The Z homing works as expected and the XY homing does not. The X moves until the limit switch is held down but the Y moves towards the front of the machine instead of towards my limit switch at the back. I read that I can correct this by changing the $23 setting for homing direction. This seems like a great solution but when I try to alter the setting in the MillRight version of UGS I get the error message "Settings are locked. Please connection with MillRight for more information". So, I decided to try and use the general release version of UGS instead, but I can't get it to connect, it hangs at "Connecting".
1. How can I change the $23 setting in the MillRight version of UGS? 2. How can I get the general release version of UGS to connect to my CNC?
I'm a newbie so any extra explanation is appreciated! Thank you!

re. general and recent release of UGS, I use V2.0.12, seems to be very stable, supports 4 axes, minor issue is that it can take 2 or 3 attempts to connect to MegaV by clicking the 'connection icon' on the tool bar.

Thank you!!! I will try it out tonight when I get off work. So if the version of UGS you recommend supports 4th axis then is there any reason to use the MillRight version at all?

Not that I'm aware. The history of MR's version of 4 axes UGS is that it was necessary for MR to modify the then current version of UGS (in 2018 or '19) in order to get the 4 axis function to support the MegaV. So it became a separate and stale (over time) thread of UGS, yet very functional for the MegaV. Since then, UGS has built or adopted support for up to 6 axes. V2.0.12 is just a known stable version that I've been using for about a year. V2.0.19 is reported to have improved connection code for MegaV, I had tested a beta version to confirm that, but due to some other oddities in the beta, I reverted to V2.0.12 for the time being.
