I purchased a new computer and installed the new UCS and now have a problem with setting the Z height. I position the cutting bit where I what the home position. Set that with G92 X0 Y0 Z0. Then raise the bit with G90 X0 Z3. When I do that sometimes it sets and all is fine. Other times it will run up to the stop switch. When that happens I reset all ane it works as it should. Can anyone tell me what is causing the issue?

A possible cause for the inconsistent behavior is:
G92 offsets (set points) are temporary until either a grbl soft-reset command (on UGS toolbar), USB disconnect/connect cycle, or an M30 or M2 command (end of gcode program). On any of these events, G92 offsets are cleared and revert to 0,0,0 which means that a G90 (absolute mode) followed by axis motion will move to the respective WCS (usually G54) coordinates, so absolute X0 and Z3 in the example you gave. btw - the speed of the motion in your example depends on the motion mode state of either G1 (at last set feedrate) or G0 (axis maximum feedrate), thus you should precede the axis coordinate block with either G1 or G0 which ever you desire.

Thank you. I will check into that.
