did first test of a v-carved plaque. I used vectric v-carve engraving tool path with a 1/4" v-engraving bit. Set the flat depth at .125". I went too deep for the bit size But overall extremely happy with the results - especially the detail left with a bit that size. Had the router set at 4.5. feed rate was 50 ipm/plunge was 25 ipm. I most certainly consider this a success even tho I went to deep as the next version will correct that. I also have 1/8" engraving bits but I didn't want to wait (many passes) for the results - so I cheated a bit. This is a plaque I originally engraved (sandblasted) in glass and just used the artwork with no modifications for the tool size in case you are wondering...lol...It's just a test.

I think that looks great, even if a hair or two too deep. The only people that would ever think that are CNC guys like us though.
Mind if I share it on FB. If so, would you like me to reference your company?

Impressive. I need to get a V-bit or two. I have some tiny ones for PCB engraving, but nothing for letterform carvings like this.
Can I ask where you got this bit? Thanks

That is great work. I never cease to be impressed what people with skill can do with these machines.

Very nice work. Are you going to clear coat that or do something else with it?

Very nice work. Are you going to clear coat that or do something else with it? I may test some clears on it to see what they do to the finish on these fiberboard plaques. Other than that it was just a test. Next versions I will try various types of masking before engraving for paint fill purposes.
