I just got my M3 put together and for an entry CNC I'm super impressed!
I've never been one to start slow and simple, so as soon as I finished a basic motion test with a sharpie I wanted to put this thing through its paces.
I pushed out a 8x5.5x.625" Mona Lisa.
4.5hrs later I was so impressed I thought I needed to share results! This was with almost no sanding or cleanup work, I cant believe how well this works right out of the box!
The setup was a 1/8" single flue round nose router bit, running at 45in/min for the rough cut and 30in/min for the cleanup with .318mm step-over (could maybe go smaller for more detail?)

Looks awesome, curious what material and what programs you used for cad and cam.

I was using ARTCAM to generate the G-Code from a gray-scale relief I found then just used the Universal G-Code sender to run it.
The wood was a little scrap of Honduras Mahogany.

That’s outstanding work, especially for a first project. Great job.
What was your roughing depth of cut? I think you can feed through the material at least twice as fast.
You can also get a little fiber detail with a slightly smaller step over.
I’m going to feature this great project on Facebook.

I did a series of stepped Z cuts, each layer was about ~3.5mm.
I wasn't sure how fast/much I could rough cut so the depth and speed was a shot from the hip.
