Made some simple holiday ornaments as gifts for my extended family. Shapes drawn in Illustrator, then a 2D contour operation from an imported .dxf in Fusion (.dxf linked at bottom in case anyone wants it). Question, though... in my 'napkin ring' thread, Alex mentioned "Final depth finishing pass" to clean up these rough edges. Is it as simple as just checking this box (circled in the attached image) under the 'Passes' tab in Fusion 360? Attachments:

If you don't have that box checked but you have finishing passes enabled, then it will do the finishing pass at every step down. This adds what is usually, unnecessary time to the operation. With that checked, it will do the finishing pass(es) at the final depth. However, be careful and make sure your finishing pass stepover is very light since it's a full depth of cut. For thick stuff, I generally go for 2 finishing passes at final depth with a step over of .002". But there's more than one way to skin a finishing pass. But I won't get into those lol.

So, does this look right to you (attachment)? I bracketed the settings I believe match your suggestion. Is it weird that even though I set it to do 2 finishing passes, down in Multiple Depths 'Finishing Stepdowns' is still set to zero? Attachments:

First, the .002 I mentioned was inches. Change yours to .05mm.
The fishing step down is for the bottom of your cutter. Imagine a finishing pass for the Z axis, like on the bottom of a pocket. Otherwise, looks good. Remember, Fusion is super helpful in that you can over over options and it will give you an explanation of what they are.

That's great - thanks, Alex. Good catch on the inches / mm. Yes - I love the hover hints in Fusion (still making sense of some of them).
Attaching the revised "Final Depth Finishing Pass settings" attachment for posterity.

Settings for adding a 'Final Depth Finishing Pass' (to avoid leaving marks on the walls of your contour cut). Just FYI the lead ins are usually a good idea as well. Basically it overlaps your entry and exit so there's not a cusp or line left where the tool enters. Sometimes they can't be used due to constraints on tool size but that's not often.

I do have Lead-In set like this (attachment). Does that do the trick, or is there additional set up? Thanks Attachments:

I meant on the passes tab. "Leads on all finishing passes."
