My brother's a tennis pro, so I made him a name plate for his desk at the club. I'm pretty happy with it. It became pretty clear that getting the black out of the deeper grain was going to take a whole lot of sanding (my power sander is currently on loan, so it's hand sanding for me), but I decided I kind of like the contrast it gives the wood. It looks a little aged, which is trendy, right? I made a base for it, but packed it up before I photographed it. It has a pocket cut out for business cards, which will fill in some of the blank space beneath the text.

Thanks! It's Bickham Script Pro; it's one of the fonts in Adobe's Typekit. It's probably my favorite script font, mainly because it has a ton of alternates for each character. The default "z" has a tail that would have dipped down into the word "tennis", but I was able to switch it out to keep anything from overlapping.

Very nice. I like the black in the grain too.

Looks great, nice piece. I'm stuck here on the fence between the M3 and the Carve King.

Great job! What size V-Bit did you use?

Great job! What size V-Bit did you use? Thanks! I used two passes on it. The bulk of it was done with a 1/8" 30 degree bit, and the strings were done with a 5 degree bit.
