Well I also did some more leveling, I had the Left-Right gantry level, but then it hit me, the Front-Back was so off it was a joke! so The gantry is now totally level and the bed is close so I just need to grab me a better wider cutter to surface the board I need to get.

So tomorrow will tell. Had to Pocket a piece of 3/4" MDF since I could find nothing thinner locally, took off .37 to get it to .38--same size as the one you sell. I need to still modify the spoil board a bit (drill the screw holes), since i have no way of cutting Z beyond what the machine will do. I could NOT find a 1/8" shank for smoothing so bought a new collet and 1/4" shank with 1/2" slot cutting tool. Figures, the Nut doesn't fit! So...Don't Laugh too hard!! I had to use the 1/8" 2 flute endmill to pocket this whole thing out...3.25 hours later. Then I jogged all the way around the sides to make sure I got every fraction of usable space the machine can reach. and what you see is my max cutting space the machine allows for. BUT I will be able to use it tomorrow. (Yay, I actually measured the box correctly, I can see the marks I made to square it off)..Ignore the -9.40, that's the Z depth from zero it took it down too.

Nice work. You have a good flat surface now.

Much better. Yes, the rope border is a little wider in spots but that is because i removed the completed board then decided to cut it out so put it back and of course you never get exact after you move it! But I just need to figure out how to get a deeper carve for some of the stuff, like maybe use the ball end like I did then do a v carve finish on the spots I want more detail? (The banner in the eagles mouth is supposed to have writing) And of course the entire eagle is just too shallow...guess I could make another tool path just for the eagle Anyway, this worked a little better..now that i am as close to level as you can get AND used the RIGHT bit!

I will certainly say this is a tremendous improvement. Congrats on the nice project. You are correct about really needing at the bit for the Semper Fidelis banner on something this size.
