Is that what you guys are doing to ensure a clean cut through on your 2D contours with Fusion 360?
I started out adding -0.1, then kept adding and adding and am now up to -1.0mm. I use mostly 12.2mm Birch plywood.
That seems like a lot to have to add but if I don't I get the onion skin crap on the bottom.
Thanks for any input!

Nah, if it’s measured and input into CAM accordingly AND everything is flat then I usually just put in about 0.1mm behind the actual thickness.

I just ran a cut and for the first time ever I got zero onion skin, had -1mm dialed in. I only cut into the spoil board by a tenth of a mm or maybe two. So I could probably pull back to -0.8mm and be OK, but no less than that.

If you have some gauge blocks and a feeler gauge you could run a Z calibration similar to what is done on X and Y.
Alternatively, some hard materials of known thickness would work in place of a gauge block. If I were you I would also verify my calipers.

Just brain storming...maybe the way you clamp it in place on the spoil board adds a small bow to the work piece? But I have the same issue. Trying to find the right distance cut below the work and then getting the tab height right also.

I also encounter this issue and usually need to add about 1mm in F360.
