Does anybody know the thread size for the collet nut on the DW611? And is a collet nut....a collet nut???

Hey DJH. I'm not sure what the thread size is. I think probably around a 9/16 though the threads look a little too fine for it to be a normal course thread.
I'm not 100% sure what you mean about is a collet nut a collet nut. That is the correct term for it.

I didn't know if the interior geometry of collets were universal and not brand specific. If the collet type for the DW is considered an ER11 type, the I guess a ER11 nut should do it.

I see. It is not an ER11 collet. Elaire corp sells different collets with the nut for the DWP611, for what it's worth.

I just pulled the er11 collet off my 400w spindle motor and tried to thread it onto my dewalt dwp611...does not fit. The er11 Chuck is quite a bit smaller. I have the elaire collets in 1/8th in, 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm and they are precision. Not cheap, but worth the money IMO.
